Frequently asked questions

Does the silencer meet a recognized standard?

Yes, Deflection silencers comply with ASTM E477, the reference standard for evaluating the acoustic performance of duct silencers.

Which configuration should I choose: straight, elbow or round?

The choice depends on the layout of your duct system and the space available. Our specialists can recommend the best configuration from your mechanical drawings.

Which material is best for a corrosive environment?

Stainless steel is recommended for humid or corrosive environments. Galvanized or satin-finish steel suits standard commercial and industrial applications.

Are the silencers custom-built?

Yes, each silencer is built to the dimensions and requirements of the project. There is no single standard model.

What is the “HTL” gauge?

HTL stands for high transmission loss: a reinforced configuration for applications that need more acoustic attenuation than usual.
